Who: Tatiana and Jody
What: Tatiana and Jody meet.
When: (forward dated) Night of September 10th
Where: Exsanguinate
Rating: Prolly just G

Exsanguinated was not the usual stop for the vampire design professor. Tatiana typically frequented the club when invited by someone else. Tonight was no exception. A few of her students wanted to go for drinks after class. She agreed. One of the students suggested Exsanguinate... and several other students suddenly had other engagements they needed to attend.

It was a pity, really, but surely the human students—the locals anyway—had known there were likely be at least once vampire in their class. They’d get over it, or they wouldn’t. She’d go out for drinks with just them on another night, if they still wanted to go. If they didn’t, it wouldn’t bother her. Tatiana was here more to be social than for the drinks.

The lady vampire swirled the martini ever so slowly in the glass. Her students had taken off for the time being to do some dancing. It was rather annoying, and they had asked her to join them, but that just wasn’t her cup of tea. So, she decided to sit at the bar for a bit and watch.

Jody wasn't usually the type to go out alone, much less to a bar, but the meeting with his sire had upset him more than he was willing to admit. The fact that he had been just at the wrong time at the wrong place, that it had been a coincidence that Giovani had picked him to turn and then toss into a dumpster. It ate at him.

Plus the vampire and his motives confused him more than he could say. He couldn't fathom how somebody would do that to someone and not feel anything but maybe mild amusement about it. But right now he didn't want to think about it. He wanted a distraction, which was why he had ended up at Exsanguinate.

The club was about the only place he could go without risking running into living, breathing temptation. Plus they served their drinks with blood here. So now he walked over to the bar, plopping down on one stool with a soft sigh, ordering a Bloody Mary, which here was quite literal and quite tasty too. He was glad they weren't asking for ID's, because that would've ruined his mood for sure.

At first he didn't even notice the pretty lady sitting next to him, but when he finally did look around, after one healthy gulp out of his glass, he blushed lightly when he noticed her, fixing his eyes on the rim of his glass. Now that was surely a distraction!

It wasn’t long before she was joined by a younger-looking red headed vampire. Tatiana learned from staying in Shadow Falls that one couldn’t judge their actual age from their apparently physical one. He had all but flopped down into his chair before ordering a Bloody Mary. One that, judging from the scent of blood, was more literal in nature. The scent of blood made her twitch slightly. Apparently she was hungrier than she had thought.

She finished off the last of her drink before ordering another, this one with blood. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the male vampire had finally noticed her and blushed. She raised an eyebrow as he focused purely on the rim of his glass. Now that was an interesting reaction to say the least.

“You know, I don’t bite other vampires...” she offered and sipped her drink again.

(OOC: Well that was interesting... I hit reply to you and it replied below at first >.>)

Jody had always been too shy for his own good. Pretty girls (or handsome boys for that matter) always made his mind go blank and turned him into a stuttering idiot, so most of the time he just chose to be silent.

But when the vampire turned to him and spoke that was hardly an option anymore without seeming really rude. He still buried his nose in his glass, taking a large gulp of his drink to calm his nerves. Here at least he didn't neet to worry about loosing his wits because of bloodlust, that was a definite plus!

"Uh...sorry. I didn't mean to of-offend you in any way." he stuttered his apology, blushing a little darker as he spoke. "I'm..I'm usually not out alone and uh..not good at being..uh...social?"

Having grown up in a time where women were meant to be seen, not heard; Tatiana tended to be quiet. Some people might confuse it with shyness, as she rarely spoke first. Some habits just died hard. When it came to pretty boys, and even girls, that Tatiana found herself attracted to, she usually found an excuse to be elsewhere. It had been some time since she tried the whole dating thing. Quite some time actually. Somehow, it just didn’t feel quite right to her. If she found the right one, great... if not... it wasn’t that she was unconcerned about it. It just wasn’t her primary focus.

After all, she had possibly eternity to look forward to. Being alone for all that time wasn’t exactly the most appealing of options.

Tatiana coughed to cover a little laugh at the male vampire’s discomfort. She wasn’t used to making that much of an effect on someone. It was oddly refreshing.

“You didn’t offend me,” She turned to fully face him. Oh this was too cute. “Tatiana Popescu,” she offered her hand to him.

Jody hoped and prayed that this whole hormone thing was temporary. He really didn't want to be stuck in this weird, awkward teenage phase for the rest of his immortal life. Then again, Giovani hadn't really seemed awkward or hormonal and he seemed to have been turned aroudn the same age as him. Maybe he'd ask him someday..when he wasn't so fucking angry at him. Scowling at his glass he took a deep sip, emptying it, then a deep breath to chase away those angry thoughts.

When he turned to the other vampire he was smiling shyly, relieved that his stuttering hadn't offended her. He had that tendency when he thought faster than he could speak and started sputtering out words different from what he had intended to.

"I'm Jody Lancaster." he said softly, reaching out his own cool hand to shake the woman's gently, but with a firm grip. "So uh...have you been here long?" He really wanted to ask her age and how she dealt with it all but that seemed terribly impolite.

They said that you could tell a lot about a person from their handshake. Her father’s had been far from gentle. He wanted everyone to know just how hard he could shake his hand. One time, a traveler walked away wincing and shaking his hand to get the feeling back in it. Rupert’s was firm and steady. He was a bit more careful with women. It was one of his few respectful tendencies toward women, as he tended to be sexist. Tatiana’s was soft, with a gentle squeeze, for the most part. It tended to be a bit more firm with humans than with fellow vampires.

“It is a pleasure to make your aquiatence, Mr. Lancaster.” As always, she preferred to address someone more formally until invited to do otherwise. Granted, she had a feeling it would make him feel a bit awkward. Then again, how much more awkward could he get?

She folded her hands back in her lap, tilting her head slightly to the right as she spoke, “I’ve been here shorter than some people have, longer than others,” she was purposely vague, wanting to know his reaction. She paused finger running over the edge of her drink again, “A few decades, actually. I rarely come here, however. While this is a wonderful establishment, I’m afraid I only frequent it on occasions such as tonight. I work at the University you see, and several of my students wanted to come here.”

Jody laughed shyly and shook his head, smiling, when she adressed him so formally. "Oh no please, I'm Jody. I'm way too young to be addressed 'Mr. Lancaster', really. I don't just only look it. Just Jody is fine, really." And actually, he could get quite a lot more awkward than he was at that point, but he supposed that came with being a teenager.

"It's really nice to meet you too." He might be awkward around girls or women, or basically anyone he found attractive, but at least Tatiana wasn't human, that made it a whole lot easier on him, even though he still felt shy and excited and fluttery. But without the bloodlust or too strong hunger setting it, it was bearable. Comfortable almost.

He frowned lightly when she was being evasive on purpose, but then smiled when she finally gave him a straight answer. "I've been here for a couple of months." he told her, finally not stuttering anymore and feeling a little more at ease. "It's the only place I can really relax. It's difficult to be around humans.." he sighed softly, rubbing the back of his head. "How do you manage?" He knew it was a rather private question, and he wouldn't mind if she didn't answer it. He was just curious.

“All right. Jody it is,” she nodded as she spoke, “Old habits die hard I’m afraid.”

Seeing him frown when she was evasive, she couldn’t help but laugh. Then he smiled once more when she gave him a more direct answer. Once again, she couldn’t help but think that was far too precious. Judging by the lack of stuttering, he lightly finally felt more at ease with her now. As adorable as it was to hear, she didn’t want him uncomfortable.

“Newly turned then?” the concern in her voice was obvious. Shouldn’t his sire have been watching him? “If that’s the case, I know what you mean…” The lady vampire could still clearly remember the overwhelming instinct to feed.

When he asked how she managed her face fell for only a moment before she managed a more neutral mask. She sighed a little and shifted a bit uncomfortably in her chair, “I’m three hundred and fourteen years old so I’ve had time to work on my control,” she spoke slowly as if she were carefully considering each word, “However, if I am not careful, that doesn’t negate the risk of bloodlust. I regularly visit the blood bank to make sure I am adequately fed.”

She shifted again before continuing, “Not that I mind answering your questions, but, have you spoken to your sire about helping you?”
