Thread: Lost Boys painting the Den
Who: The Lost Boys (and girl!) and Fray.
When: July 11th. Afternoon.
Where: The Den.
What: Painting!
Rating: Low?

The plan had been set. Today they would paint the main floor of the Den, and tomorrow they would paint the bedrooms. That was only one floor would smell like paint at a time and there would always be somewhere to sleep.

Fray had come with supplies, which had taken several trips to get in. Cans of paint, of course. Light blues and greens, as per Angela's suggestion (and purple for her room). All the easy-clean paint that could be washed, because the Lost Boys were a messy bunch. And paint trays and rollers and brushes as well. Enough that everyone could pitch in.

Things had been moved away from walls and sheets draped over anywhere that drips might happen.

Fray had set up his iPod with speakers so they could have some music too. And of course there were snacks. He had brought a tray of little sandwiches and one of cupcakes and a big bag of assorted candy.

Nao came down to help, dressed in a pair of khakis that had seen better days and a turtle neck, yes it was summer but he also wanted to both hide the stitches and keep them clean. He'd been taking the pills as prescribed but still hated doing so. If anyone asked it was something that it didn't matter if it got paint on it, that's why he was wearing it.

Running a hand through his sugary blonde hair the tiny japanese boy smiled kindly to Fray, "Just tell me where to start!" He nodded ready to pitch in to help. Since coming there he'd taken it upon himself to start cleaning up around the place. Dishes were done by the week' end and the bathrooms were a lot better than they had been. It was just something Nao did not because he had to, but wanted to.

Fray was pouring some of the light blue (but not powder blue or easter egg blue) into one of the trays when Nao came down. "Oh, start anywhere. All the walls have to have it," he said with a flash of his Cheshire smile. This paint was good and came with primer right in it, which was a plus.

He held out a roller to Nao and gestured to the tray that he could dip in and get going on it. He grabbed a roller for himself as well.

He was far too short to ever hope to reach the top of the walls, so he made use of a small two rung ladder that was there. Taking it and the roller with him. Dipping it into the tray and applying it to the wall in a smooth stroke.

Nao was half tempted to hold up the roller and compare it to Fray's hair to see how close the blues would match up. "Thanks for doing this Fray, it will help cheer things up around here" Everything had been so weird lately and the whole Jules thing had everyone on edge.

"Thank Angela, it was her idea," Fray said with a laugh as he started in one one of the walls, swiping rolls of paint onto it. "She thought the walls could use a fresh coat." And of course she was right about that! It would make the place look fresher, brighter. A bit cleaner.

He rolled the paint on, focusing in on one section of the wall. It was a nice colour, he decided. A pale blue, a bit of a gray-blue so it wasn't too cutesy or babyish. Just right.

Sonny had a paintbrush in hand already. It was one of the smaller paint brushes, and he had dipped it in some of the blue paint. In the beginning he had been working on corners, the places that were difficult to reach with the rollers.

But then he had caught sight of a bug.

Now Sonny was following carefully after the bug, trying to get close enough, without startling it away, so that he could paint it.

	Nao glanced over curiously when Sonny started to roam almost aimlessly but focused with his paint brush. When he caught on to what he was doing he shook his head, "Sonny don't paint the bug.. that's toxic for them" Chuckling a little because well.. that seemed to be this Sonny that lived in the Den. 	"I'm only going to paint his exoskeleton," Sonny replied. That was a big word. Sonny wasn't very smart, because he lacked education, but he did know about bugs! Because he liked bugs a lot, thought they were cool. "Just a little. He'll look cool." Not that he was going to actually catch the bug. Every time he got closer, the bug skittered away a little bit more. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Shaking his head and smiling "Yeah well just don't let it get in Dove and I's room, the rat scared him enough don't need him spooked over painted bugs too" He laughed. Not that Nao honestly believed Sonny could catch the thing either, it seemed to be eluding him at every turn. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Angela was very happy that Fray had agreed to their idea and also that the boys though it was good too. She pulled her hair back in a ponytail and put on a pair of jean shorts and a tank top and was ready with her brush in hand. They were starting with the downstairs and it was fun that they were all together too.

She focused on her area around the front windows, her head bouncing to the music, smiling as her new family was having a good fun time. There had been a bit of sadness lately with the boys so a fun day would do them all good.
