Prompt: Whipped Cream
Who: Misha and Open
What: Serious plans to eat his feelings
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Nearest grocery store
Rating: TBD
Status: In Progress

So, it had been a really, really long time since Misha had ever fought with a significant other, and now he'd gone and made Ciardha mad because he thought the vampire actually agreed with all of this nonsense. Misha was aware that he could have asked, but it wasn't like the guy had made himself clear. He understood that a council member probably had to be neutral, but under these bullshitty circumstances, he was of the opinion that raising a ruckus about a crazy guy being released into the public was just. Caprice had her reasons? Whatever reasons were complete and utter bullshit, because there was no sane reason for someone like that to be near anyone with or without a pulse. He deserved to be locked up or put to death.  Misha groaned, as Irena pulled him along, quite excited to be outside on account of her master not usually being an outside person. She barked a few times, which caused Misha to roll his eyes and smile because, no matter his mood, the hyperactive German Shepard never failed to amuse him.

Still! He made his boyfriend mad and it was making him feel kind of shitty.

His recourse?

Eat his feelings via a giant apple pie.

For someone shorter it probably would have been considered ridiculous, but he was really tall and so eating an entire apple pie by himself wasn't that far out of the realm of believability.

Apple pie with whipped cream would be the best, so he had to make a mental note of that as his dog pulled him through the sliding doors of the grocery store. By now he knew where things were shelved, so all he had to do was guide his dog in the right direction, and once he was there he took pause and waited until he could hear someone coming his way.

"Uh, excuse me," he turned his head in their direction. "Which one of these is the whipped cream?"

Teddy's mother did the grocery shopping. The thing was, she bought all sorts of healthy foods. Things that were all very good for a (hopefully still) growing boy, but not exactly delicious. Not exactly what he was looking for.

So once a week or so, he went on his own trip to the grocery store to stock up on all his junk food needs.

He had a basket slung over his arm as he trudged down the aisles. Already he had a bag of Doritos, some microwave popcorn and a bag of licorice. He was going for the cookies next, when he passed by someone who he vaguely knew. As a friend of his sister's.

"Oh. Hey. Uh. To the left," he said as he watched the man's hand hover over the cans. "That one. Yeah."

Sometimes Misha wished people could just hand him the things that he asked for, and other times he was fine with reaching. Such as now, he was fine with reaching, and once his hand was on the correct can he smiled and nodded. "Thanks, man." The male sounded young, though he had never been good with pinning ages just by voice alone since there were a lot of females running around who sounded like they could still be teenagers even when they weren't.

With a nod he gently tugged on Irena's harness-thing (that's what he called it), so she could start moving again, to the frozen food section this time! Maybe instead of one pie he could buy two, so he could eat more of his feelings, if there happened to be any left over. Misha didn't really know why he was taking the argument so seriously, but then he was aware that it made sense to take it seriously.

He was right, goddammit!

"Welcome," Teddy replied with a little smile. He stepped back to give the man and the dog room, because he didn't particularly want to get in their way and end up tripping one, or both, and ending in a tumble on the floor. That would be awkward.

"You're Misha, aren't you?" he asked then, sort of blurting it out, but Teddy had never been the smoothest when it came to social interactions.

"You know my sister. Er, Lavinia. I'm Lavninia's brothers. Teddy."

"Hmmm?" Misha stopped, felt a tug at the harness and then nothing further. "Oh, yeah." Lavinia! "What is she up to?" He asked, curious since he hadn't spoken to her in what felt like forever. He missed her presence and the fact that she could be ridiculously adorable without even trying.

"How is she holding up? Last time I saw her was when we were hanging out at my house." Misha hadn't hung out with anyone in a while, and he really needed to fix that, lest he become the hermit earlier than he was supposed to.

"She's good," Teddy replied with a smile, because he was terribly fond of his sister.

"Well. You know. As good as she ever is." His sister was a trooper, smiling through her illness - and through the fact that she had to live with Herrick Turner. He didn't know how she managed that. How anyone could manage that.

"How're you? This your dog?" Okay, that was a dumb question.

"I'm all right. Just planning to eat my weight in apple pies," he admitted. That was probably all Misha would admit, because he wasn't the type of guy to complain about his personal problems. He would complain about everything under the sun, but if it had something to do with what had happened between him and Ciardha then he would keep it to himself and make a mental note to talk to the vampire later. He'd stop by his house, maybe, because saying anything to him through the journals would just be too impersonal.

"Yeah, that's my dog. Her name's Irena and she's pretty friendly." Irena was currently in a sitting position, just looking around before her brown eyes eventually landed on a boy she'd never seen before.

"I'm probably going to to the same. Except with cookies," Teddy replied, thinking nothing of it, aside from the fact that junkfood was just great sometimes. And the need to indulge sometimes reared its head. Especially in the wake of too many salads.

"She's cute," he said of the dog. Well, she might have been a bit big for 'cute', but oh well. Teddy liked animals from afar, although he'd never had a pet of his own.

"Yeah. She treats me well, I treat her well. It's a good relationship, all things considered." Misha always thought it would be proper to treat the dog that was essentially your eyes better than you would treat any other kind of pet. He always bought her the best food, made sure that she was bathed (which was always fun since she had a tendency to run all over the place) and that everything else on her was up to par.

Of course, curiosity was getting the better of Irena and so she approached Teddy cautiously, bumping her nose into her leg, sniffing him out to see if he was on the up and up.

"That's probably a good thing," Teddy said, wondering - as he had many times - what it would be like to have a pet. But Lavinia was allergic - so their parents had always claimed - so it was not a possibility.

He reached out a hand when the dog padded over to him, and let him snuff his palm before he went to pat the top of his head, those soft, short bristles of fur.

"What kind is she?" Teddy knew a lot of things, but dogs were not on that list.

"She's a German Shepard," he answered before kneeling down to give Irena a good scratching underneath her chin. She tended to like that and began tapping her foot a little. "I've had her for a while, but she's in pretty good shape so I'm glad she decided to stay around," instead of die.

"Didn't always have her, but I finally decided to get her from my parents." It was mostly because he needed something from home, especially since he knew he wasn't getting out of here any time soon. He did desperately want to leave, but this was going to be his lot in life. He'd be trapped here until he was old and dead and, for a moment, he wondered how quickly Ciardha would move on after he reached a certain age.

Did he care? Yes, yes he did.

"Ever think of getting your own pet? Lavinia seemed to like Irena."

"That must have been nice, to have her come," Teddy said as he scratched between the dog's ears. He was really just glad that she wasn't sniffing his crotch or something embarassing like that.

"We were never allowed to have pets. Our parents wouldn't let us," he replied with a little shrug of his shoulders. He had asked - Lavinia had asked - when they were young, as children did, but the answer was always the same.

"And I still live at home."

"Yeah," he shrugged. Misha thought it was better than having no one. Sure, he could send for his sisters, but did he really want to be that much of a bastard? No way. One was married and one was busy finding herself or being a lesbian or whatever, so there was no reason to ruin any of that; he loved them too much to put them through the same shit that he was enduring.

"How old are you, kid?" It made sense for him to live at home if he was little, and he sounded like he was. Misha didn't think Lavinia had told him much about her brother, though he was sure she had her reasons. "Also, I need to be led to the apple pies, if that's all right with you." Might as well make use of the help while he had it.
