sophia barnes hello everyone! i am bringing in sophia as part of the barnes family. her family's part in the coven barn incident was less accidental, more intentional, but they have spent a lot of time casually charming (with words and magic) influential members of the town to keep them from being exiled! totally normal family behavior over the last century right?

sophie was born and raised in peculiar, though she did the typical eighteen year old girl thing of "I HATE THIS SMALL TOWN AND EVERYONE IN IT" and peaced out to portland for university. her grandma died right around her graduation, and so she returned to town and now lives in that very cozy haunted house.

her barnes family magic is being a medium, though it's only been within the last five years that she's decided to accept that and not be annoyed by seeing dead people everywhere. that particular magic of hers is a bit underdeveloped but she's working on it. the other sort of branch of barnes magic is enchanting - and she is much better at that because it's far more advantageous to her. if you've ever eaten something she's brought to a potluck, guaranteed you've left feeling a bit happier than when you walked in! ✨ magic ✨

she currently co-hosts a cult-hit podcast with her bff

dignify called the ghost whispers which is 100% a reference to that mid 2000s tv show starring jennifer love hewitt. they cover paranormal phenomenom and do 'investigative' reporting on reader submitted stories. between patreon subscriptions and sponsors they're doing alright for themselves on that front! 100% they sell their merch in town, sorry everyone.

as for lines, i need pretty much everything? i would love to connect with the other coven barn families so we can all discuss ~what actually happened that fateful night~ and how they all might be linked together in modern day. please let me love all of you.

she's 28 so they're closeish enough in age. we could go with the, they met at camp the PRIOR year, sophie didn't go the 2005 year because maybe she was sick with a stomach flu or something? turns out to be a blessing, and now she has a welcome guest spot on the podcast whenever she wants it. even if it's to talk about other stuff and they just wanted to feature a guest host for the week.

ok so! now i feel a little bad because isa would not take well to a podcast telling the town's business and would likely find it exploitative (her feelings about true crime as well). actual enemeies/feuds are not everyone's vibe but if you're down, i'd love to do offer one up, even if it's one-sided and sophia is just trying to be nice whenever they end up near each other at town events

it started as the town because that’s what she knew but since both her and her co-host are mediums they have now moved on to more listener submitted paranormal activity. but if she still feels paranormal stories are exploitative then sure, a one sided thing is fine. i don’t think sophie has any reason to dislike someone who isn’t a fan of her podcast, people are entitled to like what they like.
