It’s been thirty years since the war ended and Harry, Ron, and Neville have locked up as many Death Eaters as they could find by command of the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. The Minister was still getting a lot of flak from the Muggle Prime Ministers about the war and how many innocent Muggles were lost; the bottom line was they didn’t want it to happen again. They wanted their people to be better protected against threats from the Wizarding community, and so they gave Minister Shacklebolt an ultimatum: come out to the Muggle community of your own will or we’ll out you ourselves.

After talking it over with his Undersecretary, Hermione Weasley, they both came the conclusion that it would look better on their part if they spoke with the Muggles and Muggle press willingly. On January 10th, 2025 Kingsley Shacklebolt and Hermione Weasley talked to Muggle and Wizarding press who broadcast it all around the world, telling them the whole sordid history.

January 11th, as the children returned to school and sat down to read the morning paper they were all in shock to see what had happened. That day, Headmistress McGonagall assured everyone that there was nothing to fear, that the Minister hadn’t given away the location of the school and never would. They were all still safe there. The reactions from the student body were different; some thought it was about time, others didn’t have much of an opinion, and then there were those Pureblood elites that were against it whole heartedly.
