Welcome to Revolve...

Man, I see...the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

In the late 1970's, a man by the name of Charles Xavier and his friend and fellow mutant, Eric Lensherr, were on their way to making a dream of his come true. While the world was ignorant to the existence of mutants, sometimes by choice and sometimes not, he was all too aware of their growing numbers around the globe. Being a mutant himself, he also understood well the things than man was capable of when presented with something his brain could not process and accept. The most common reaction was fear, followed by a way of making the situation acceptable. Most times the quickest way to solve the problem, though hardly the most rational, was to simply get rid of it. To destroy it. This was why he sought to create a place, a safe haven for his kind - for the mutants. He could help them, guide them, and keep them safe until the world was ready to accept them for who they were and no longer be afraid.

At the same time, a small group of scientists had discovered what Charles Xavier already knew. Children were being born with strange DNA. Given accelerated growth hormones brought out the genetic mutations and foretold of things the human world was not prepared to understand. It was these group of five men and one woman who decided children like these should be kept well away from society. At a time where the government was easily persuaded by money, they were able to acquire an island the size of Maui in the Southern Asiatic Sea. There they built a facility to hold such children - the mutants - and try to figure out a way to cure them. The only other option was extermination.

The facility, dubbed "Revolve" for the way power seemed to shift from one person to another at any given time, provided lodging for the mutants, schooling, and even recreation in the form a modern day amusement park. For three years, the children and adults within Revolve were well taken care of. Until one young man by the name of Nicholas Fischer decided rehabilitation for such freaks was not the idea to run with. It was he who had Charles and Eric poisoned and killed, putting his plans for an all mutant school to rest before they'd even begun. It was he who bought his way into Revolve and began preaching the idea of hate over tolerance. Why exterminate the problem when it could easily exterminate itself?

By the mid 80's, Revolve went from a scientific rehabilitation center to an all out mutant fighting arena. Only the richest of the human race could take part, buying their way into colored blocks and bidding on fighting matches; their goal being owner of the Black Block where the most powerful and dangerous mutants were kept. The dorms were still there, but now turned into cells. Schooling was replaced with training, keeping the young as the grunts of the organization and doing the cleaning and waiting on, while the older were trained to fight each other. Freedom was replaced by electronic and poisonous collars. Mutants with especially dangerous or slippery abilities were given inhibitors to keep them well under the control of their owners. The park was still there and mutants were free to use it during the day while the bidders were away, though always under the careful watch of so many guards. Some of the founding scientists were killed, but two stayed on, money their only motivation now.

Children born with the early indication in their DNA were taken in sweeps, their disappearance being blamed on running away, kidnapping, or anything else those on the raids come up with. Of course, not all children taken were mutants and so had to be gotten rid of, and not all mutants were taken. They knew there were still many out there and tried not to think about the inevitable day when they would be raided, and all the play would be over.

Now, twenty-five years since the birth of Revolve, the organization plays host to past American presidents, foreign dignitaries, celebrities, and anyone rich enough to get in on the action. Here at Revolve, mutants are no more than dogs set loose on one another. The more blood shed, the better the payout. Death matches draw the biggest crowd, so pick the night of your visit carefully.
