The Kingdom of Staseris is prospering. There are resources a plenty for the wealthy and the common to thrive. The King does not rule alone, but has four trusted Dukes who rule at the three corners of his Kingdom (Thista, Charal, Alazia), while the King remains in the capital of Vilyra.

That is why it is a target for foreign armies to attack: there are the Krommathen tribes to the north who follow the old ways, but raid for food, supplies and more farm land. There are Aeqineians to the south who have a weak truce to hold back war. There are the king's bastards, who look for ways to take what they think they are owed.

For how advanced Staseris is, there are still vast tracks of forest or ranges of mountains where magic, dragons and other magical creatures reign. There are sorcerers and sorceresses who do work for good, but others who look out for their own. The race of dragons are dwindling, but they have magic on their side still to survive.

What will the future be, and who will rule?
