Eolas Academy
One of these changes came from Minister Shacklebolt's decision to open up the first Wizarding University in Britain. Knowing that knowledge was the key to a peaceful future Eolas University opened its doors for the first time in 2030. Modled after both muggle and wizarding universities across the globe their goal was to provide a solid education of both textbook and practical knowledge for young witches and wizards preparing for their future careers. Everything from the Geffory Buttermere College of Medicine to a degree in Muggle Studies would be offered, as well as a vast range of extra curricular activities would be offered. But with this knowledge of the muggle world being floated about on Eolas's campus questions begin to pop up. If this idea can work it's way into the wizarding world, what others would work? Is the Stature of Secrecy relevant any more? And just what would happen if the two worlds were to merge? Peace? Or dominance by one people over another? For ore information about each major offered at Eolas, please turn to Page 4 of the booklet. As always, Qudditch is an ever present force among the campus. Eolas has four Qudditch teams (Basilisks, Hellhounds, Minotaurs, and Vipertooths) all competing for the Eolas Cup. The teams are comprised of future B&I League players, all honing their skills and getting ready for the big show. Think you have what it takes to become the next big sensation in the quidditch world? In addition to Qudditch, Eolas's student body has organized a wide range of clubs including (but not limited to) the Charms Club, the Game Guild, Rugby, Dueling Club, and Muggle Culture Club. For more on athletic opportunities and clubs on campus please consult page six. On campus the three dormitories located on campus are McLaggen, Shacklebolt, and Slughorn. Each dormitory has it's own unique look and appeal to it, weather it's because it's closer to the lecture halls, or because most first years live in that dorm. Each dorm has it's own unique layout as well as it's own dining hall that serves three meals a day and is usually open for later hours during midterms and finals. First years are required to live in the dorms their First Year, while it is only strongly suggested that they remain there for their Second Year. A majority of students usually choose to live in the dormitories. For those students wishing to move off campus there are several houses that students may live near the campus. Each house can hold anywhere from four to eight people depending on the house, and some houses may have special requirements in order to live there. Most furnishings and appliances are provided along with a washer and dryer. Each house is free to decorate as they please, including repainting should they choose. Meals and cleaning services in the common areas is not provided as they are not in the dormitories. Any damages to the houses are to be taken up with the landlord and may or may not result in the tenants paying for repairs depending on what happened. And finally, a new Greek life has sprung up on campus. For the longest time, do to the culture of muggle University life in Britain and Ireland those who belonged to a Fraternity or a Sorority were in the vast minority. However, in the early 2020's this began to change and by 2050 Greek Life became as regular to the University system as it is in North America. It took a few years after the founding of Eolas to get the Greek Life going, but now that it has arrived it's starting to take on a life of its own. All houses have beds in each of the rooms (most people living in these houses will share a room), full kitchens, washer/dryer, and desk sets along with any all furniture they may need (each house varies). For more information on housing at Eolas, please turn to page ten. Holds last for one week with a possible two day extension. After that you must wait one week before re-holding a character.
