There had been some kind of settlement on the shores of Lake Serenity since well before records began. Nestled in the valley and surrounded by mountains in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, it was a beautiful and serene spot. Eventually, settlers founded the town of Tranquility.

Tranquility remained a small town and at the turn of the twenty-first century existed mainly as a tourist destination. The family campground, the high class resort, the celebrity rehab center.

Now, it is a town divided: the Spa resort that offers luxury and style - for those that can pay the price. The campground that has become an enclave for families trying to get by. The shanty town that floods in bad weather, where crime is rife and the rule of law non-existent. The human-only enclave in the mountains, determined to protect their patch - at all costs as they prepare for the end of the world.

Tranquility Point is a game set in an alternative near future, two years after the outbreak of World War Three. It is not focused on the war itself, but on a small town where people are trying to get away from it.

Every country in the world is involved in the war - but it was the emergence of the supernatural that tipped civilisation over the edge. The intention had been to help. Major world powers, trying to avoid the 'nuclear solution' revealed their various 'projects'. In some cases, it was the existence of military breeding programs, such as the creation of regiments of werewolves. For others, it was 'specialist individual supernatural assets' (SISAs) of many and varied types. The aim had been shock and awe - only to find that almost everyone had supernatural assets of some description.

The effect on the general populous of the world, those that had lived unaware of what was coming, was mass panic. People fled population centres. International borders collapsed under the strain. Refugees became the norm, heading for anywhere they deemed safe, regardless of country of origin.

Do you ever get that feeling? The tickle in the back of your mind, the sudden feeling of unease that comes just before something bad happens? Do you ever look at someone and somehow, with no rhyme or reason, know what they're thinking about? Have you found notes, weirdly ominous or vague notes written in your own handwriting, that you don't remember writing? Do you ever feel that there is something more to you than just what the world sees?

The Bennet Institute for Psychic Research and Development, more commonly known by the locals as simply 'The Institute', was established in the year 1948. It was founded by Professor Joffrey Bennet, a brilliant man who had been fascinated by psychic abilities, and the people who were born able to wield them. He lived and worked at the Institute until the day he died in 1994, when it was passed on to his son, Alexander Bennet. The Institute is located in Louisiana, where Joffrey Bennet was born and raised. There are five buildings, four of which provide housing for the students.

The Institute is an original character roleplay focusing on the staff and students who live at the Bennet Institute for Psychic Research and Development. We are now open and accepting holds.

EMERALD COVE
PREMISE
It's 2016, and the world as we know it has ended, replaced by a post-apocalyptic, dystopic one. A virus, made by scientists in an attempt to prolong life, was accidentally released too soon and, instead, infected and killed all humans. In the space of a year, every man, woman and child that had once walked the earth had become nothing more than piles of bones in a world left in ruins.

However, hidden away amidst the dark and frightening landscape, like a gem among rock, lay a beacon of light. An untouched town protected by an unknown energy. Into this town, the energy pulled people - good, evil and neutral - from different points in time and space, across multiple universies, in the hope that someone would be able to help. The name of the town: Emerald Cove.


Upon arrival everyone is provided a cellphone, laptop, a small amount of money to get them started so they can find work, and keys to a home where they can set up residence. It is then left in their hands to decide how to live their lives in this new place.

emeraldcove is a panfandom, original character friendly game that welcomes all fandoms.
