When Skynet was originally installed by the military to control the national arsenal on August 4, 1997 no one could have suspected the impact it would have on the world. Becoming self-aware, Skynet disregarded the first two rules of robotics and a nuclear war was carried out that nearly destroyed humanity. Machines were created to terminate or herd the remaining population. For years, the Machines were able to carry their plan out with little resistance.

Enter: John Connor. The prophesied son of the Resistance, an unofficial military organization that eventually threw a wrench into the Machine's plan. Ultimately, although they managed to regain hope for humanity, they didn't manage to overthrow the Machines. Now, in the year 2068--50 years after the events in T4--all of the major players, including John Connor himself, are long deceased in a war that never truly ended.

The Machines continue to hunt humanity and have taken to using sleeper agents among their ranks to discover Resistance Camps. While humanity has managed to take the majority of what was once Canada and Alaska, the Machines remain largely in control of the rest of the world. With John Connor just a legend, humanity is once more struggling to keep optimistic about their future.

But there are few who cling to Asimov's three rules and hope to incorporate them in a future where Machines and humanity can coexist. Over the years, Machines have been captured and reprogrammed to fight alongside the Resistance, testing the theory that the 3 Laws would make a difference.

On October 31st, 1999, a group of eco-terrorists released a biological weapon at every major airport in the world. The infected became sick, then violent and murderous. 28 days later, the world population was reduced to less than 1% of its former number. In America, the virus mutated and went airborne leaving less than .01% alive.

The world as you knew it is gone. Some remote areas are desolate nuclear wastelands. Cities are virtually devoid of life. Governments – both Magical and Muggle – struggle to maintain order and plan for the future of the human race. People are learning to farm again, to build from scratch, to seek out trades for things they need or want.

Set in the Harry Potter universe, Plus 28 Days has been going strong for over two years. We introduce world plots every 3-6 months and every player has input. Canon compliant up to the day after the Battle at Hogwarts, after that point is the interpretation of the players as long as it's structured within the HP universe. Our USA side is mostly Muggles (OCs). Our cast is friendly and helpful. If you are looking for an RP that has no player drama, come by and take a look.

Something is stirring in Newport Beach, California.

One of the most affluent and exclusive areas in Orange County, Newport Beach is a safe, comfortable space where the real world has a tendency not to to intrude on the pleasures of its citizens. It's a nice, normal, friendly, monochromatic city in a county that's known for the same. In fact, many people say that the majority of Orange County seems like a construct designed to keep the troubles of real life out, creating a plasticine paradise that nothing dark or dirty can penetrate.

The residents of Pax Letale are slowing coming to know better.

Pax Letale is an exclusive luxury apartment building right on the beach, with easy access to the 405 and all the charm that Newport Beach has to offer. Its residents comprise a surprisingly eclectic demographic for Orange County and Newport in particular, with people from all walks of life being drawn to this building for reasons they can't quite identify.

The common thread that binds them, of course, is that they are each of them inhabited by a sleeping god.

As they spend more time at Pax, their gods are awakening, though -- and strange things are happening. Natural (and supernatural) mishaps and disasters, disappearing tenants, and quite recently, the concierge was brutally murdered.

There are whispers among some that the strange island in the bay, visible from the building, has something to do with all of this. Still others are compelled by the island; if it didn't sound crazy, they'd say it was calling to them.

They aren't crazy.

The blood-truce that has stood true for centuries has shattered.

The vampires sneer at the world from the safety of their red city. The demons close their gates to strangers and slaughter those they find wanting.
