1969.  Twenty five years have passed since the defeat of the Dark Wizard Grindelwald. What started out as a peaceful era has turned to chaos. Riots. Protests. Politics. Liberation. The world is changing, the tenets and mores of the past vanishing as the Purists cling to their old traditions. It's been twenty five years since a young man named Tom Riddle left Hogwarts and disappeared into obscurity, focused on finding the key to his own immortality.  In his absence, the wizarding world has completely changed.  Luckily he has too.  This isn't the usual Harry Potter.  It's a whole other world.

Everyone knows the story of how Dumbledore defeated the Dark Lord Voldemort in 1985, but in 2027, it's just that: a story. It's something they learn in History of Magic and ask their grandparents about for a first-hand account. But a darkness looms on the horizon for the next generation of kids, one that seeks to destroy the peace maintained in Britain for the last forty years, and this time, it's up to them to fight back, and not all of them will make it through to the other side.

In 2023, the first Wizard University was opened in Ipswich, England. Offering an alternative to traditional internships, the school was a welcome relief to places such as St Mungos and Professional Quidditch Teams, where applicants far exceeded the vacancies. One year later the school is thriving with nine offered subjects, co-ed fraternities, street games, and Quidditch tournaments. Gossip and rumours, pranks, and day-to-day mishaps make college life anything but boring. Just mind the occasional streaker.

WMU is a next generation Harry Potter game set at university. With a focus on character development, good storylines, and both friendships and relationships between characters, we’ve gone back to basics that make role play fun. We encourage good writing, journaling, threading, and our players to simply relax and have fun.

Where there are no last chances.

Off of Route 321 in Tennessee, in between Gatlinburg and Hartford is a small, backwater town called Heartland. Many overlook it and pay it no mind. To the great majority of America there is nothing special about this town void of even a fast food chain. Well, that’s just how they like it.

The pride and joy of Heartland is its school. Established in the early 1920’s by a inheritably wealthy and good-hearted man, Heartland Boarding School has been taking in the world’s supposed ‘lost causes’ when no other would. With the view that all kids deserve second, third, fourth, and many more chances, they offer a non-judgmental and healthy environment for kids to escape to. It was the hope of the founder that with the proper encouragement ‘troubled teens’ could go on to be ‘successful adults’, a philosophy carried on by his daughter and grandson who now over-see the school.

Heartland is an RPG based in a fictional town. This is a game which gives players a chance to play in an environment focused around the interaction of the students and teachers. We are looking for good writers interested in good, solid plot that is player driven as well as mod driven.

The war has been over for seven years. People have built families, started careers, and gotten on with their lives. It hasn't all been easy, and there have been unexpected hurdles in the way, but the generation of kids who stood up against Voldemort have become adults. For better or worse.

But not everyone is happy about the new reign of peace. There is unrest in the shadows, dissent among the Ministry, and a danger that lurks on every full moon. Life can't remain peaceful forever, and you must make a choice: stand by wait, or take another stand.

Life As You Know It is a game that focuses on the lives of Harry Potter's generation, though you are welcome to apply for any of the canon older characters for plot purposes. The game will rely heavily on character interaction, and will have a major arc that the mod will advance from time to time.

Unofficial game play began on August 9th, to give players time to settle into their characters. Official game play will begin on September 23rd, with a full moon and breakout of Azkaban. Until then, players are welcomed and expected to participate in smaller plots designed for character building and interaction. Please send questions to lifemods@gmail.com.

In the spring of 1998 the trio were captured in Malfoy Manor where fate would dictate they escape with the assistance of Dobby the House Elf. However, fate did not go according to the plan. In the last second the elf was killed leaving the trio to the mercy of You Know Who. With Potter captured the path was clear to the Ministry and after numerous show trials, in July, the Death Eaters took over completely. It is a plot that could fit into many games, but there is one difference- it is not the Dark Lord that rules but a Dark Lady, there was not a boy who lived but a Girl Who Lived, the greatest Headmaster that lived was actually a Headmistress and it was her father’s love not her mother’s love that allowed the Girl Who Lived to survive.

Enter a world where the outcome of the war has not just been turned on its head, but every character’s gender.
