Ivy Grove Academy is a fictional Private Boarding School, set in Worcester, Massachusetts, and loosely based off of the real Worcester Academy. Gameplay will take place on the campus of Ivy Grove, exploring the relationships and lives of boarding students, away from home, friends, and all things familiar. Of course, this doesn't mean that students will always be confined to campus. Sports and other various events, trips, formals, and activities will take place in the city of Worcester, surrounding areas, and maybe even another country!

Now seeking a diverse student body and faculty! From the trust fund kids, to the academic genius on scholarship, jocks, and slackers with deep-pocketed parents. Quirky teachers with odd teaching habits, hardass coaches, cold as ice Lit. teachers with a chip on their shoulder, and a Headmaster who loathes children. They'll all be here with one common goal: Graduation.

In early 1980, Sibyll Trelawney gives the Wizarding world arguably one of the most important prophecies to date. Lord Voldemort, upon catching wind of his downfall, devotes himself to bending the very foundations of magical exploration in an effort to glimpse his future with one goal in mind: changing it.

The effects are catastrophic. Dark Magic coupled with Divination results in a ripple-effect, one that spreads first to Voldemort's Death Eaters and then to the rest of the Wizarding population of Britain. Gradually, everyone is seeing his or her respective future, in a short flash. No one knows how the flashes are spreading, or how to stop them. Even more peculiarly, there are whispers of stranger side effects than brief glimpses of what is to come. The Ministry calls them "Visitors," and they're trickling in slowly but surely. It hasn't taken long for everyone else to cotton on: they're from different times.

The Ministry of Magic is in an uproar, and the magical community has no idea why this has happened to them, or if the flashes are even real. Panic and confusion pervade the already tumultuous times, and with the institution of the Department of the Oraculum the Ministry hopes to soothe the population and record accounts of each person's flash in the hopes of piecing together an ambiguous future.

Suicides and homicides had always been common in the black hole that we like to call Seattle, but they've suddenly increased at such an alarming rate, that the public demands for answers and are outraged when the police find none. All fingers begin to point towards the mayor, and her suicide still shocks them all.

Everyone begins to wonder if these suicides are linked together, and linked to the multiple murders that are spreading through the city. The murders are all done in a similar fashion: decapitation, as are the suicides, all hangings that never show signs of asphyxiation.

The werewolves think that the vampires are doing quite a sloppy job of covering up their messes.

Background
In the ancient days, the gods relied on Seers to prophesize their next move, and foresee any dangers that faced the supernatural deities. These Seers would band together and hold rituals to See what lay ahead for all beings; man, god, and other alike. Nearly 12,000 years ago, the Seers saw something that frightened the gods so much that they took drastic measure. They held a counsel and decided that, to save themselves, they would do the unthinkable. Combining their powers, the sent all supernatural beings to the continent of Atlantis. To keep balance in the world, the gods did not destroy the island. Instead, they sent it to another realm, where they would be safe from what the Seers had predicted - the downfall of the gods by the extraordinary... by the supernatural.

Premise
For thousands and thousands of years, the supernatural (as well as the unfortunate humans) have lived on the continent and have reached a point of peace and prosperity. The Seers, however, who were banished with the beings (out of fear, naturally) have been seeing things which could change the shape of their world forever. Darkness is coming... who will stand and fight?

You wake up disoriented and in an abandoned theatre. The large and empty screen ahead is your only source of light as you try to figure out how and why you’ve arrived here. Your last recollection before your dreamless night was lying down in your bed and drifting off to sleep. You thought you were safe.

As you make your way to the outside you notice the sky a gloomy overcast that’s threatening rain, but the weather isn’t what bothers you; it’s that concrete wall surrounding the premises that has you worried. In the distance you can spot four tall buildings and even an Amusement Park, yet, as you continue to explore, any trace of an exit seems almost impossible. You’re trapped here.

Walking further you suddenly hear a disembodied cry of something horrible; something deadly, and it sounds hungry. Adrenaline pumping through your veins you stop and look for the source of the noise, but can’t find anything. You continue to walk forward, thinking it’s all in your head, thinking maybe you’re being paranoid, but another retching scream calls out; now it’s right behind you. And suddenly you realize that the threat is real and you better be quick on your feet if you plan to survive.

“Horrorwood” is a panfandom horror roleplay that takes place in an alternate city very similar to that of Hollywood, California, with the exception that the place has been barricaded from the outside world and is crawling with all too real monsters. Good guys, and even the bad guys, wake up to find themselves trapped and relying desperately on their keen survival instincts.

You’ll make friends, or you’ll make enemies, but be careful who you decide to befriend. The monsters aren’t the worst ones out to get you.

1981
Lord Voldemort attempted to attack Godric's Hollow to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled; but, when the Order was tipped off about his plan, they were able to warn the Potters before Lord Voldemort could get to them. Instead, Lord Voldemort found himself face to face with Albus Dumbledore when he arrived at the village. Lord Voldemort, refusing to lose, lashed out with a violent curse that severely wounded both himself and Dumbledore. But when the attack did not kill the older wizard, the weakened Dark Lord ordered a mysterious lurker to finish off Dumbledore.

With Albus Dumbledore gone, the Wizarding World waited with baited breath for Lord Voldemort to rise to power. Months passed and there was no sign of the Dark Lord's return. Rumors of his death spread like a wildfire and many attempted to gain back what they had lost to fear. Only the Order of the Phoenix remained suspicious and vigilant.
1983
Many have started to regain the lost normalcy in their lives. Nevertheless, unbeknownst to the peace-seeking Wizarding World, a devious plot has been set into motion; one that will tear down the foundation of Wizardry and bring about the second war.

The game begins in May 1983.
