September 22, 2008 the bodies of fourteen badly decomposed bodies were found in Godric's Hollow. These bodies have yet to be identified.
October 24, 2008 was by far the worse Massacrer to happen in the last twenty years. The Hogsmeade Massacrer, which claimed the life of Minerva McGonagall, has seen Neville Longbottom into a coma, and taken the lives of Hogwarts students and a professor. This does not include the nearly 300 lives taken in Hogsmeade, along with burned down buildings. Hogsmeade will never be the same.
November 14, 2008 The people responsible for these attacks are still unknown, and today have gotten away with several more deaths, and over 100 new injuries in a surprise attack on Diagon Alley. This newest attack has lead to the students being kept at Hogwarts over the coming Holiday Break, and the promise of a Yule Ball.

Hallowed Ground

[info]hallowmods
[info]insane_games
The outcome is known, but how was it reached?

In late spring of 1997, Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape, and the Wizarding World changed. Hallowed Ground is an RPG community for writers interested in exploring the intricacies of what followed, reaching deep beyond what's already known. Come discover what really happened inside the walls of Hogwarts and out; watch the Headmaster struggle with his allegiances, the DA reform to battle the Carrows reign of terror on students, the Death Eaters plan attacks on Muggle and Wizarding societies from inside the Ministry of Magic, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strive to keep a light shining in the dark. Join us in our endeavor to develop the adventures unseen as time winds down to a final battle unlike any writing experience you've had.

Hallowed Ground is searching for the absolute fullest compliment of cast possible and is currently home to 50+ characters, so there's a very wide spectrum of people to interact with. We accept any character mentioned in the seven Harry Potter books who is known to be alive on 1 July, 1997, and encourage insightful takes on both characters we already know and particularly ones we've barely met. The game is played in day-to-day time (with accommodations for holidays, etc.) and is set to end after the Battle of Hogwarts, with as much time as is needed after to properly finish threads. Applications are currently open; players are asked to work with canon to develop their own path through the known story lines as we go, as there is already so much available room to maneuver.

Writers interested in applying should know that this is a community oriented game. Moderating is done by a combination of rotating founding mods and player-elected mods, preventing power trips and encouraging player participation while still providing the necessary assistance and guidance to make a game run smoothly. Experience is not required; we firmly believe that a writer brand new to RPG can develop a character fabulously and fully. Seasoned players are also happily accepted with their favourite known characters or brand new explorations, now is your chance to let someone new invade your brain! The. Fruitful. Project.

[info]fruitful_mod
[info]insane_games
* The Fruitful Project is in no way possible affiliated with "The Eden Project" ([info]eden_project). They are two separate games with two separate plots and separate mods. Any similarities seen between the two are completely coincidental.

The Fruitful Project
Original Character. Future. Arranged Marriage. 17 & Up.

In the year 2010 the world was plagued by the full effect of Global Warming. No country was spared, and no one could imagine the speed in which it came. Within months entire cities were underwater, drier than deserts, or completely leveled. Thousands died and there was no end in sight. Many lost hope until 2020 when the Eden Project was founded.

The Eden Project was a last ditch effort by the human race. Surviving scientists came up with a chemical, a gas called 'Eden' that would hopefully cool the atmosphere enough to put a stop to the catastrophes happening around the world. Slowly but surely the temperature began to drop and the storms slowed. In the time between the beginning of the storms to the launch of the Eden Project, the world population had dropped from nearly seven billion to a little below five.

It was another six years before the effect of the 'Eden' chemical was known.

It began in 2028. There were suddenly less children being born and by the end of 2029, pregnancies stopped all together. The men and women of the world were now completely sterile. It was soon discovered that the Eden chemical was the cause of the sterilization, that the one thing that had saved the world had also doomed it to an inevitable ending, the population destined to dwindle down to nothing.

Now in 2048, after the population has dropped to below three billion, a solution has been found. The same lab that came up with the Eden project has been working for the past nineteen years to reverse the devastating effects without destroying the clean and near perfect atmosphere of Earth. The Fruitful project was a serum, a cure that reversed the sterilization but only in people below the age of thirty.

The Global Government is taking a drastic step to increase the population. The Governments of the world began to administer the serum by either offering it for people to take willingly or slipping it into the water. To further insure that the population will continue to grow, a global law has been put into place. A marriage law. The Fruitful Law.

Every healthy, non-married person between the ages of nineteen and twenty-nine are to be married, whether by choice or by Government selection. The couple will have a one year period at the most after their marriage to conceive.

The Fruitful project is for the betterment of our world. Who will be your match?

A note about the mods:
The mods at Fruitful are experienced players who have seen their fair share of fantastic games...and the not-so fantastic games. First and foremost, they are players who want to be a part of an active, successful game. They are here to listen to your opinions, and to create a community of players, not just a game for characters to be played in. The mods care about any player who is accepted or even just thinking about applying. Every character will have some sort of plot to participate in, and no entry a character makes will be ignored.

The role play is set in a fictional town by the name of Innovo, California. It is the year 2048.

NEW HOPE
a multi-fandom, Post-Apocalyptic game
{RULES | HELD | TAKEN | WANTED | APPLY | ARRIVAL INFO | CONTACT US}

In the year 2020, the world came to an end.

It began with a vaccine. A way to protect those who weren't already afflicted with HIV, and to perhaps help cure those who were. It was meant to save mankind. Instead, it condemned them to extinction. Entire cities fell virtually overnight. Chaos filled the streets. Governments were overturned, anarchy became the new order. Hope was lost until, almost eighteen months after the ordeal first began, a small group of the brightest minds came together and created a plan to save the world.

In 2025, New Hope was created.

A large, domed facility built just outside Geneva, Switzerland, New Hope was meant to be their salvation. It was safe, from both the elements and the dying victims that still roamed the neighboring hills. There was a chance to start fresh, to create life once more. They simply had to find a cure. Unfortunately, with their own health waning and time running out, a cure was further from their grasps than the stars in the sky.

The answer came, they thought, in the form of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator, LHC was capable of creating a gap, between time and space. It was with this theory that the scientists spent the final moments of their life preparing New Hope for the arrivals. Videotapes, audio recordings, even written instructions were set in place to answer any questions. The message they left was loud and clear. These arrivals were the last hope of a dying planet. Together, they may be able to find a cure. If not, it was up to them to ensure the planet survived.

The year is now 2030.

For five long years, New Hope has remained empty. The scientists are long since dead and the most amazing creation of their time is slowly crumbling from neglect and decay. Yet the LHC has never once faltered in its daily attempts to open the hypothesized rift. And at long last, it is beginning to succeed.

New people are arriving almost daily. Some pulled here without their knowledge, some coming in the name of exploration. Beings of all shapes and sizes, all walks of life, now roam the streets of New Hope. They have been assigned a task by those before them to save the world.

That is, of course, provided they're capable of surviving themselves.

New Hope is a multi-fandom RPG. We allow for most any fictional character from most any fictional setting. This game is set on a Post-Apocalyptic Earth in a fictional city which does not exist in any known fandom. Due to the darker nature of this game, we ask that all applicants be at least 18 years of age or older.

The Source-- aptly called, for its creation of the core worlds of the multiverse. At the beginning of everything, it set the creation process in motion and let it go. Since then, innumerable worlds have been born, as well as countless alternate versions of those. Years passed--billions of years--and at last, The Source's finely-tuned machine began to fail. Lucifiel and others turned against it. War was waged in Purgatory.

And then-- Gabriel chose to stand against his creator's orders. The Arc took control of Purgatory, luring still more Arcs and angels away.

The Source decided to begin again.

Just when destruction seemed certain, Gabriel rose up and threw his own strength against that of his maker. The two opposing forces, instead of defeating one or the other, opened a rift in the multiverse. In mere hours, as The Source retreated and Gabriel returned to Purgatory to recover, strangers had begun to arrive in Purgatory.

It's only a matter of time before The Source attempts again-- and when it does, who will win?
