Downstage Productions was created in 1997 by a group of four friends who were struggling actors trying to make it in New York City. After countless rejections, the four friends wanted to try something different. They were sick of NYC and the harsh reality of the entertainment business. They bought a van and decided to travel around the US instead, putting on plays wherever they stopped. They performed, just the four of them, in parks, at schools, on sidewalks - anywhere people would stop to watch. Eventually more people started to join them. What began as four friends just wanting to prove themselves became an entire touring theater company. Instead of playing for free in parks, Downstage Productions now shows in some of the most respected regional theaters around the United States.

PREMISE

Hunters work in secret all over the world, ridding the world of one supernatural force after another. Also in secret, one girl was fighting the same war all by herself in Sunnydale, California for seven years, stopping one apocalypse after the next. Nobody knew of her, with the exception of a few key individuals who helped make her the strongest and most successful slayer to ever exist. When The First decided to come forth with its army, Buffy Summers unleashed the essence of the slayer magic, and made every potential slayer (all girls) in the world, a full-blown slayer. Sunnydale was decimated in the process, and Buffy and her friends and family began scouring the world for every slayer—slowly creating an Army. It wasn't the only war being waged. Also in the United States of America, those hunters working in secret had dilemmas of their own to face. While a slayers greatest foe is a vampire, the hunters of the world are too reckless and revenge-driven to just have one enemy; but their greatest opponent has and will forever be the demons clawing their way out of hell. Sam and Dean Winchester in particular have a vendetta against the supernatural, and have spent their entire lives battling against those forces to avenge their mother. Last year, Dean Winchester made a deal with a demon to sell his soul in order to save his brother from death. Five months ago, Dean was dragged to hell on behalf of a powerful and sadistic demon—Lilith. Two worlds, two sides, and both fighting the same evils, and never coming into contact… before now. In late August, Dean Winchester awoke in the middle of a cemetery in southern Texas, with no memory of how he escaped from Hell. Both the hunters and the slayers of the world are fighting a battle against evil, as well as a government that believes Buffy Summers' army will attempt to take over the United States, and soon, they are about to collide.

Plague ravages the lands, spreading the "Sweating Sickness" amongst the people in the most popular areas. Englishmen are tried and punished for not taking the Oath of Allegiance, England is at odds with the greater part of Europe, and the realm is in a continued state of unrest because of the King's "Great Matter" over who is the rightful Queen, Katherine or Anne.

In the Court, scandals spreads between the many factions. The love lives of the upper class seem to feed the wildfires of their gossip. No nighttime rendez-vous goes unnoticed, no bed stays cold for long, no young and innocent lady stays young and innocent.
