Eden was entirely in her own little world, having no knowledge that there was anyone else on the beach until she caught the grayed hair and the fact that, gasp, there was a man taller than she was around here. And noticeably so. That didn't happen very often. Usually there was very little difference but he appeared to have a handful of inches on her even at a distance.
She pushed a hand through her hair after she straightened it and tossed it over her shoulder. It was a sort of subconscious effort to hide her back. It wasn't that she was ashamed of her scars but it was still a rather painful topic. Honestly, she wasn't expecting such a pleasant tone from the guy. He looked like a drill sergeant or something. He had that air around him. She knew she did too. "'Morning. Water's fine. Lovely even," her accent was confusing to say the least - a mix of Nairobi and New South Wales, Australian. "Wouldn't recommend swimming out too far though. Never know what 'the Commissioner'," she did the air quotes, "will decide is an escape attempt."
All while she talked, she walked towards her towel and when she reached it, she settled down on her back in a rather languid manner like this whole thing was just a vacation instead of being kidnapped.
