That's when Colin realized what he'd said. "Fu-" he clapped his hand over his mouth. "God-" Okay, that was swearing too. He waited a second before the urge to curse because he'd cursed in the first place passed. "Sorry."

Then, she started asking him questions. He stared at her as he tried to decipher at least half of what she was saying. Which wasn't working very well.

"What?" he asked, clearly utterly confused. And here people said all English speakers spoke the same language. Not.
