Coop's first thought was that the man had hit his head -- and hard. His eyes went to the closet, and he frowned to see the long claw marks in the wooden door. Too bad that story wasn't a symptom of the head injury as well...
Shifting a little, Coop decided to change tactics. It was less important to focus on what had happened and more important to discuss the injury itself.
Scraping together his first aid training, Coop asked, "How's your head feel?"
