Coop had not been expecting the shove, but he did not begrudge the man for it. He caught himself with his hands as the counter caught his shoulder. With a roll of that shoulder, doubting the blow had been hard enough to bruise, he carefully approached the man again.

"Whoa, it's okay. I'm on your side. I'm Coop. My wife's the one doing the cooking."

Nevertheless, Coop croached down just out of arms reach, for his sake and for the sake of the man on the floor. He looked like he was about ready to be sick...
