Penny nodded in response to his order, it was best to give herself a minute before trying talking again. Plus, in a minute she'd have some booze in her mostly empty stomach which meant it would only be a little longer until she would feel that warm comforting tingle in her fingertips. But he asked a question. That required an answer.
From what she could see, there were a few open tables, and at her height, climbing on and off bar stools was kind of a pain. "Might as well grab a table." a moment to come down from the embarrassment of her spaciness and subsequent stuttering had let her regain control of her tongue. She headed towards the bar, assuming Reese would get the table.
"Jack and Coke, Maker's Mark on the rocks with a lime, and a shot of tequila, please?" the words were slow and deliberate, and she was glad no one else was fighting for the bartender's attention. She took the shot at the bar, wincing as it burned all the way to her belly, and finally lifted the drinks, looking around for Reese as she walked.
