Re: Dean & Aly
A certified badass? Such a thing felt foreign to her, if only because she felt far smaller than that everyday of her life. Nothing she did was to be respected, at least in her eyes. She danced and worked a pole without clothes on for a meager amount of money, just to keep her head afloat. Her and Emy.
Though when she looked at Seren and Kevin, she could understand his point. They were truly the strong ones here. It almost made her feel guilty, knowing they had to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. "Don't feel bad for escaping, Dean." Her words were soft and genuine. Her last intention was to make him feel bad or uncomfortable, but she still had to admit she admired him for being able to get out of it all, even if it was by no action of his own.
His question though left her reeling, and at first she was nervous to answer. Would he even want to talk to her anymore knowing she didn't have the courage to join his cause? It left a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, but she wasn't about to be rude. Dean had been entirely honest with her. She owed him the same.
"I'm just a friend of your cause," she admitted, looking down at her beverage with almost a hint of shame. "I know Neville, and his friends, and how brave and wonderful they are. I admire them. But I have my own responsibilities." Her eyes wandered to her twin, who she loved more than life itself then, as she sighed.
"I'm too much of a coward right now to put myself out there, is all." Merlin, she felt ashamed saying it, and the look on her face mirrored her feelings. Aly was incapable of being anything else but an open book. "I spend every waking moment I can working, trying to make ends meet. Anything more and I'm worried I'd fall apart," she told him honestly, with a small, empty laugh. "I wish I was stronger."
