Dean & Aly
Dean let out the little bit of breath that he was didn't realize he was quite holding while waiting to hear if he was right or not. He smiled again and rubbed his free hand on his pants to make sure they weren't sticky from something he was grabbing off of the table and stuck it out to shake Aly's. Dean hoped that this would make him look less like a creep than knowing who she was without the benefit of the other way around. "Oh yeah, known him forever. I'm Dean." he introduced himself. "I sometimes help out at the orphanage and walk the kids over the clinic if they get a little rougher when they're playing games." he offered hoping that this would also provide her with context to why he'd been there in the first place.
Dean listened to her as she spoke and watched her movement, trying to put some more of the puzzle pieces together. He understood what she was getting at. Dean knew that he didn't have the same life as a lot of people here, but he almost did. If it wasn't for figuring out who his biological dad was, he would have been right here with them. Instead of relief, it made him all the more committed than he already had been. "I get that." he nodded along. "I think just because it's so rare, you know? I've been trying to think of it as...I don't know, more important that these things happen than letting it feel out of place." he shrugged his one shoulder a little bit knowing that probably didn't make much sense. "I think, honestly, I was never good at the philosophical stuff. Always left that to the smarter kids." he chuckled a little bit.
