The actual Laken would not have blamed Charlie for being the least bit suspicious if he knew. In fact, he would have been somewhat impressed by the other man's thinking skills. On the other hand, Laken also realized that might be a little fucked up by what might be considered to be normal standards of human interaction. That being said, Laken was also was more than aware that he could not operate by the usual standards and still be able to do his actual job. Hell, there was a reason he had fallen into pace with the other man in the first place. And that, largely, had to do with a suspicion. Okay, maybe more than one. But still, nevertheless, here they were were, and Laken was acting as if nothing was bothering him in the slightest. In fact, he was acting like it wasn't so odd to check in with someone a few days after a rather large...outburst. Naturally, Laken didn't blame him in the slightest, and had he really been able to do something along those lines, he would have. Shouted the injustice from the top of his lungs and reveiled himself to the world, partly for shock value, and partly to make the point. But, alas, he couldn't, all he could do was appear to lend support the only way that was really possible right now. And actually lend a little bit of support in the process of trying to determine exactly what was happening here.
The question did not escape Laken, and really, he wished he was a little more used to how easy people tended to start asking him things. People were weird, but in this case, he didn't mind so much. And more importantly, didn't think Charlie anywhere near an idiot for doing so. It actually came across genuine to him, so he decided to roll with it. Besides, it's what his persona would have done anyway. "Just outside of Holyhead." he noted. "My parents have a farm out there, and we were able to keep it with," he waved a hand around to imply the roach motel they were all currently living in. "because we grow so much produce for everyone. "It's getting a little too hard to get out there, even with the current standings." he purposely let slip a little bit. While public Laken was still a very good boy in the eyes of everyone, it also implied that he was a lot smarter than he let on and it was best to avoid eyes on, well, anyone really.
"A task both noble and easier said then done sometimes, yeah?" he sounded sympathetic. While Laken tried to not to put a toe out of line publicly, he got it. Coming out as a wolf would destroy his family in more ways than one. Especially now that the Ministry decided to release their own pack. That was something that he and the other guy both agreed on would not be in anyone's interest. Laken shook his head a bit as he darted around someone heading their way before linking back up with Charlie. "It's been...more intense than usual." he admitted. It wasn't a false statement, nothing that could really get him in trouble. But damn if it also wasn't spot on and really, Charlie had no idea. The sheer amount of input Laken was dealing with was the whole reason he wanted to come out running to begin with. "It pays the bills, but, I'd give a lot to not have to deal with any of this, and just...be outside. But, alas, life is what it is and I have to make my situation the best I can or fall into madness along with them." the tone of his voice though implied that falling into madness was not an option at the moment, though he chose not to elaborate.
