Derek raised a brow when she gave him the go ahead to order whatever. He wasn't entirely sure if it was some test, but shrugged anyway, motioning to the bartender. "Gin and tonic. Little lime for good measure." With a nod he waited until she had her drink, not saying much in the mean time.
Mostly because he wasn't entirely sure what to say. What this meant. What Daphne was trying to get across. But he figured he should probably get a certain part out of the way though.
"There's a chance I could have to leave at any time. Probably won't go down tonight, if I'm right about my instincts, just figure I should let you know that up front." With a shrug, she polished off his second beer, holding a hand up when he was offered another round. "Double shot. Whisky. Just go with the Irish stuff for now." Nodding in thanks he finally turned his head to face Daphne more fully.
"I gotta ask, and not trying to be a dick here, but what is it that you want, girly?" He just needed... a clearer picture. From her. So he understood what to do here.
