The Atrium was filled to the brim with the flash of cameras and the excited voices of the media and the public. An elevated platform had been pushed up against one wall on the opposite end to the prominent statue and fountain. However, any sounds were swiftly muted by the arrival of the Dark Lord. Striding through the crowd like a knife through butter, all parted swiftly, more than a few knocking into the person behind them in their haste. With a black robe slithering around his almost unhealthy form and a snake like face, he stepped onto the platform and started a speech about the recent muggleborn disturbances. His cold, high oitched voice was only slightly magnified, but it carried impressively with not even the barest shuffle of feet as he spoke.
He paused only near the end of his speech repeating calls of outrage to the disturbance of public order. His lips twitched upwards in what might have been considered smile if it had met his cold scarlet eyes. He raised one of his hands in the direction of the side of the stage where some of his staff stood in an impressive line. "But, you see I have more to discuss today than mere muggleborn policies. For there is someone very important who you should all meet." Turning to away from the crowd he turned to the side of the stage, but did not lower the charm on his voice. "Vladimir, come here."
Scarlet eyes stared at the boy with expectation as he strode onto the stage until he stood close beside. With an enhanced smirk Voldemort turned his gaze back to the crowd. "This is my grandson, Vladimir Romanovros." There was the expected outbreak of whispers but with an impatient glare they were silenced swiftly. "The one and only person who shares my blood. Vladimir was not raised in England, but in Russia before his mother, my daughter tragically died. It is quite the sad tale, but in tragedy there is hope and opportunities for now I have my grandson by my side."
The words were all false as often escaped his thin lips. It did not matter it never had.
He paused for a few moments to allow it to sink in before he continued. "Vladimir will have a normal life in England. However, as my heir he will of course be subject to the public spotlight. I have no doubt he will be able to handle such exercises. He will have no official public role at this time." He nodded curtly to no one in particular before he slipped a spider like hand over Vladimir's shoulder. "That is all. We will not be taking any questions."
As could be predicted, the questions started. Voldemort paid it no head as he walked off the stage, taking Vladimir with him.
