Draco was furious with himself but he also knew that his self-preservation and the preservation of his family meant he had to look out for that one special house guest: Vladimir Romanovros. The boy had no idea who he was and that further incited anger in Draco while at the same time it made the fact he was expected to treat the boy as his equal that much more bitter a pill to swallow. Suffice it to say that by arranging to have a Welsh wandmaker come and assist Vlad in finding a working wand, it did not mean that they were friends.
Draco arrived in his aviary at precisely 1:30 to meet the wandmaker he'd brought in from Wales. Mr. Cantington Distinctive Wands was the name of the man's shoppe and Draco had known the him since he was a boy when his father would take him on the occasional excursion to Wales. It was a favor Draco called in to the man who, for an additional price of gold and the promise of a Condor feather when Draco received the bird, was willing to make the trip for a private sale.
As the clock neared two, Draco and Mr. Cantington examined the fine display of sixty or so wands beautifully set out along a long table lined in thick black velvet brought in for this purpose alone. It wouldn't be long before Vlad arrived and Draco felt his palms get slightly clammy as the pace of his heartbeat began to race a little. I shouldn't be doing this Flashed through Draco's mind and he pushed that vile thought back and inhaled sharply as he cleared his mind from all thought beyond the task at hand.
A few moments later, the door to the Aviary opened and Draco swallowed, stepping forward to greet Vlad in a manner that was both seemingly friendly to keep up the appearances for the sake of Mr. Carrington, but also to preemptively assure it was in fact Vlad who had arrived.
"Good. You're here." He stated coolly, though a smile managed to crease upwards on his face. "Vlad, this is Mr. Carrington, wandmaker." Draco's introductions were cool and distant, and carried an unintended aire of secrecy and concern.
((OOC: Feel free to NPC Mr. Carrington or if you prefer I NPC him, that's fine too. Just let me know.))
