Bee had gone shopping for Valentines day weeks ago. It had taken six stores and many, many dresses before she finally picked one. It couldn't be just any dress after all. It had to be the perfect dress. Every person going out tonight would most likely be wearing red. Instead the dress she picked was a black dress with white polka dots. She chose all of her accessories to be red and they all had some sort of glitter or otherwise shimmery material. She firmly believed glitter made everything better. Bee took one last look in the mirror. She adjusted the sheer material that covered her shoulders. Once she gave herself the nod of approval she was ready. She'd been wondering what Kenny would think of her dress. Maybe it wasn't the perfect one. Maybe she should have gone with the more traditional one. Or the dress that was much. much shorter than this one. She knew the dress didn't really matter. She knew that wouldn't change Kenny's mind but she wanted to look perfect for him. The entire time she was getting ready her radio was blaring and she was singing along. But the sound of the doorbell pulled her out of her thoughts. Knowing Kenny was on the other side of that door brought the flutter of butterflies from her stomach. He always made her feel like she was sixteen and falling in love for the first time. She swung the door open, revealing Kenny on the other side. "Hello there handsome," she said. The happy smile on her lips reaching her eyes as they lingered on him. She was feeling a happiness she hadn't felt in a long time and she wanted to remember everything about this moment. |
