That’s about it.” There was a slight edge of bitterness in her voice, but she was not so self-involved as to think there was anything she could do about it. The world sucked and that’s just how it went; you either rolled with the punches or you got out of the way.
When he asked if she wanted to get out of there, she smirked and shook her head at him. “You really can’t wait to get outta here, can ya?” She laughed, a little more condescendingly this time, but eventually nodded. “Ya go it. We’ll book. Erica’s all done up on stage anyway. She can tend to the bar. Wait here a sec, handsome.” Jackie winked and then was jumping back over the bar so she could go and explain to the stripper that her job wasn’t quite done yet.
It took only about five minutes to convince Erica to tend to the bar and then to get her jacket. By the time Jackie returned to the bar, she was all ready to go. She sidled up beside Liam, close but not touching, and smirked. “So; where exactly do ya wanna go?”
