Liam caught her eyes and kept the gaze. "You really wanted me to stop by, didn't you?" he asked, still not breaking that gaze. He knew this game, and he could win it.
"What if I hadn't?" he asked with a slight smirk. He felt a little more daring around her now than he had a week before. It was a good sign, not that Liam would ever admit it, that he still had some humanity left. He'd spent so long staying away from the world, keeping to himself, that now that he was actually talking to someone--and enjoying their company--it felt relaxing. Relaxation was something he needed.
