Vance's eyes narrowed, and for just a second, that large stick might have wobbled, and even rose, maybe half an inch, before settling again. He didn't like bullies. He shook his head and turned to Dug. "Then lead on. I'll follow you."
He grinned at the dog and moved after him. "Looks like we're raising a barn or a shed. And both are nice reasons to just work hard and then enjoy life."
He poked Dug softly, patting him. "Friends working together can do amazing things."
