Jayne was of the mind there were suddenly too many people out here, and he scowled faintly as he watched a stick come flying through the air to land next to the house. "Yeah, watch where yer aimin' that," he muttered, not expecting to be heard over the rain. Not really caring, for all that. He shook his head before he waved one hand to Jaime to indicate he was going back in to continue dragging the trees they'd cut earlier.
Lily did hear, rain not withstanding, and she smiled softly but didn't bother. Jayne was Jayne, and that was that. "You're doing a wonderful job, Dug. Just watch out for Jayne, all right? I wouldn't want you getting in his way."
Jaime snorted, then laughed. "Yeah, he kicks dogs," she offered as she fell in behind Jayne. She wondered if Mal was going to make it out here, and she supposed he might, if he saw the message. Or he might just stay upstairs and wait for her soggy self to make it back up.
