Faye never thought she'd be the kind to appreciate innocence in just such a way, but she found herself intrigued by River's hesitance. Her expression softened and she gestured with her head for the girl to move closer.
This was... She couldn't quite explain it with words in her mind. The situation was unfamiliar. Not completely new in certain aspects, but very different. Never had she seen someone go so quickly from seemingly-eager to shy. Or maybe just uncertain. Whatever it was that made River hesitant, it seemed to be a genuine emotion.
Maybe it was the line between fantasy and reality. Or fear that Spike would be angered that she went over his head for further... assistance.
"There are... two ways to do this," Faye murmured. Her gaze trailed from the doorway to River. "You know that already, don't you?" She wasn't completely certain what Spike might have told the girl, but had a feeling River knew at least one of the methods for sharing the vaccine. And the other was mostly common sense, given that it was carried in blood. "We won't... get very far if you glue yourself to the wall."
