"After you," Balthazar motioned grandly towards the door with a smile. He was curious to see these screaming mandrakes and suddenly wondered what other plant differences there were between their realities.
He did glance over at Dave with a doubtful look, raising his brow. "I'm beginning to feel like you don't want to ... hang out ... with me, Dave. Just what sort of things could you be doing right now?"
He couldn't tell if Dave was just playing it up or if he was really uncomfortable, but it wasn't as if he and Lily had no self control and planned on suddenly making out in front of the younger boy. They were just going to silence some mandrakes.
"I can assure you I don't feel crowded," he added thoughtfully.
