John rolled his eyes when he heard Lily's voice through the door. He thought it was pretty obvious that he was in here, even though he knew she was really just trying to get his attention, not discover who was in his bathroom.
He knew a lot of things. He knew this wasn't her fault. He knew he had no reason to be a jerk to her in response to the picture. He knew nothing that went on in either of their futures really had anything to do with what they had right now. He knew all that and more, but it was difficult to separate how he felt from what he knew.
Blowing out a sigh, he pulled on a pair of boxers that he'd left in the bathroom at some point and pulled open the door. Shaking his head as he gazed down at her, he shrugged his bare shoulders.
He wondered what she would do if Noah showed up here and he was pretty sure he wouldn't like it. She married the guy, right? It made sense that she would pick him.
