RP: Silence really was golden Characters: Isadora, Spike Time/Date: Evening, October 1 Location: Library Warnings/Rating: None Summary: Dora is glad the music is gone Status: Discussed
While she was perfectly aware of the movie situation (and could hear the louder scenes perfectly well from where she was sitting), Dora had little interest in watching movies. She was more interested in quiet, or silence. However, she didn't want to remain in her room for the evening now that the noise had stopped ... which meant finding one of the quieter indoor places.
The quiet was occasionally punctuated by laughter or commentary drifting in from the rec area, but that was far, far easier to tune out than the incessant pulsating beats that had been plaguing them for the week. The utter and absolute silence that had fallen at noon had been the most amazing thing she'd ever not heard, and she'd slept solidly for the first time all week.
Afterward, she'd gone downstairs for a late dinner, and caught the teens and younger adults trooping in for their movie night. They were resilient, she'd give them that.
She and Iridia had retreated to the library, and Isadora was silently making bets with herself when Spike was going to show up. Because she assumed he would. Conversation had been too difficult to hold through the majority of the week, so she hadn't bothered. She'd preferred to remain solo in her room than to try to fight the music.
Settling into 'her' chair, Dora opened the book she'd been attempting to read since Tuesday, pleased that the quiet allowed her to actually get through the first couple of paragraphs without rereading the same line a dozen times.
