"I won't, Core," he promised her, tightening his arm around her for a brief moment. He knew what she meant and it scared him that it was a possibility. He understood why, but it was kind of depressing that she had those thoughts; like he wasn't worth staying alive for, even though logically he knew it didn't quite work that way.
"Don't leave me alone either, huh?" He added, tilting his head to kiss her hair when his hand resumed its slow exploration of her back. "D'you think we want to make an attempt to be social while this is going on or tough it out with the two of us?"
He figured it was more up to her since he... couldn't decide which he thought was better. Whatever she felt up for, he guessed.
