"Of course I would," he said, feigning ignorance. "Are you suggesting that there would be another place to put you? I of course would never dream of leaving you downstairs on the couch. That would be entirely inapprorpriate." His lips curved into a smirk that gave him away as she pressed a kiss to the corners of them. "I was unaware that dinner and a movie had that sort of purpose built into it. I'm glad that you informed me."
He kissed her back gently, while she was there pressing her lips against his, but let her pull away even though he did not wish too, nodding his head rather solemnly when she mentioned that she'd see him later that evening. "Of course," he murmured gently. "I'll be here."
While he knew that she would of course need some time to herself, some time to process what had happened, he really didn't want to see her leave. There was a part of him that irrationally feared that when she stepped out the door she would go back to being missing again. But he knew that was foolish. He'd see her tonight, and it would be fine.
