"Believe me, the further you delve into technology, the more you start to wonder what isn't possible," Kirk said with an amused half smirk to Barret's question. He gave a half salute at the 'nice to meet you' comment, and smiled a big as Dug tried to jump up at Barret to sniff at and lick at his face, seemingly unperturbed by the fact that he was dealing with a boy-lion.
Or... whatever he was. He hadn't said yet, and Kirk was pretty sure it was bad form or something to ask, so he'd wait and see if it came out. Or until the curiosity of it overwhelmed him. "Time travel isn't exactly foreign where I'm from," he admitted with a roll of his shoulders. "Or kidnapping, for that matter. Being out of contact with my ship is a first, though, and to have a whole bunch of people here from different times concerns me, but I've got a good crew," he smiled with pride. "They'll figure it out and get us out of here."
He was processing thoughts, though, and 2010 sounded like... Earth years. Which didn't jive with his alien theory. He was growing closer to asking questions.
