Lily shifted slightly so she was facing him more squarely, tucking her skirt between her thighs as she sat criss-cross on the bed.
She nodded slightly to his explanation as she tried to find an equivalent comparison. "So it's not so different then from transfiguring something and leaving it be. Eventually it wears off. Or some of the charms on ... invisibility cloaks," she hesitated. James had one, but a real one ... not something charmed but a very unique object. "They wear off if they aren't tended."
They could animate objects as well, and Lily was interested in discovering what other parallels there were between their spells and casting them. She thought it stood to reason they could both do the exact same things ... they simply had different methods of going about it.
Emerald eyes drifted curiously over his face, studying his features, perhaps lingering a touch too long on his lips before she managed to turn her gaze away. She was being ... silly. He was here to talk magic, that was all. "Do you want to try then? Practicing a bit, with ... what we'd started outside." There was space enough to at least work with shielding spells and whatever else they might come up with to try as long as it didn't involve them -- or anything else -- flying across the room.
