RP: Rage. Lots of it.
Characters: Xena and Open.
Time/Date: August 30, late afternoon.
Location: Lobby (whichever part of it that has a TV).
Warnings/Rating: I'll say R, for girlsex and mentions of other sexual activities. And for Xena's freakout at the end - there's violence and mentions of even more violence.
Summary: Viewing a program on that box that lights up that says 'Xena and Gabrielle'. And then smashing the box in question to bits.
Status: Ongoing.

Xena hadn't noticed what was on the network until she was coming in from outside. She'd been spending a lot of time training, albeit against invisible enemies; you never knew when you'd need to defend yourself. Even after the reavers, there could be far worse, and there was no way she was going to let anyone catch her at less than her best. It didn't matter that she was antsy and uncomfortable without Gabrielle, that every day without her was like having a sword stuck under her ribs and twisted. She was a big girl. She could make it.

But then she'd read what people were talking about, and it gave her pause. They could show that on these things, too? So she paused in the lobby, picked up the click-thingy, and turned on the box. It took her a minute to figure out how to bring up the menu, and when she did, she almost dropped the remote.

There was a selection that said 'Xena and Gabrielle'.

What were they showing?

Swallowing hard, Xena pressed the button for that one, and stared at the scene that unfolded.

Gabrielle's face, so beautiful and soft in the firelight. She was so young, so much younger than Xena. Still just a kid. Xena felt a horrible pang of guilt as she watched herself touch the blonde's cheek gently, brushing a thumb over her lower lip. Gods. She'd really been taking advantage of Gabrielle. Just using her. Gabrielle had been - and was still - too young for this. Too young to even really know what she wanted, and Xena had come in and done... This to her.

I've never done this before, Gabrielle whispered onscreen. And Xena watched herself say softly back, Don't be afraid, Gabrielle. And then... Xena had to shut her eyes as she saw herself kiss Gabrielle.

But she made herself open her eyes again, even in the face of the roiling guilt and disgust inside. Gnawing on her lower lip, she stared at the images in front of her. Herself, undressing Gabrielle. Kissing her, making love to her. Her grip tightened on the remote as her guilt slowly gave way to anger. Every camera angle was designed to expose them both, but, it seemed, Gabrielle especially. So soft and pale, beautiful and untouched. How dare these people do this? How dare they?

They could do what they wanted, to her. They could have shown her in a threesome with two centaurs and she might not have complained. But to do this to Gabrielle - the sweetest, the kindest, the most innocent...

She'd kill them.

She'd kill them.

Xena wound one arm back, and with a roar of rage, sent the click-thing flying. It smashed the front of the box in a spectacular display of sparks and shattering glass. Not satisfied with just breaking it, she grabbed the box, heedless of its weight and now-ripped wires, and brought it down against the floor. The box crumpled under the force, and she brought it smashing down again and again, listening to the material crack and twist.

When it was finally unrecognizable, she pitched it across the room, letting it it the far wall and then drop to the floor. She'd find the bastards who'd done this to Gabrielle and kill them all. Strangle them. Beat them. Nail them up on crosses and crush every bone in their legs before leaving them to die a gruesome, horrific death in a hell of their own making.

There was only one word left in her mind: kill.

Smashing. Crashing. The smell of adrenaline, anger. Didymus's nose perked up, and he wheeled his steed about, making straight for the noise (even if Ambrosius wanted nothing more than to flee from the loud noises). This was no time to shrink from their duty. Someone might need them. So he dug his heels into his mount's sides, urging him onward, with a mighty, "Charge!"

Except, once he'd entered the room, there didn't appear to be a battle at all. Only a woman -- though a large woman, to be sure -- staring at a crumpled heap of something black. How the ... former thing had offended her so -- or indeed offended her at all, in such a state -- Didymus did not know. That mattered not. Still, as there was no one to run through with his lance, he simply raised his eyebrows and asked, "Milady?"

Hearing noises from behind her, Xena spun around, ready to let fly, when - she realized that what she was looking at wasn't an enemy. It wasn't even a human. It was a fox. Riding a dog. And the sight was both so ridiculous and so sobering that Xena's arms dropped, and she could only stare. Wow. She thought she'd seen some weird things in her time, but this really took the cake. But he'd spoken to her, so she cleared her throat awkwardly.

"I'm not a lady," she said. "Sorry, if, uh - sorry if I bothered you." There was no easy way to explain the destroyed TV, so she opted out of even mentioning it. Hopefully, he wouldn't.

"Nay," Didymus answered with a shake of his head, urging Ambrosius a bit closer, since she no longer appeared to attack (even if Ambrosius was having none of it). "Nay, thou didst not bother me." He paused, frowning, because this damsel did not look to be in distress, precisely.

"I smelled anger, and heard noises, and I, er, thought -- naturally -- that a battle ensued." His eyes flicked briefly to the pile of black refuse and then back up to her. And he started to say that she looked to be no man, but he didn't think that question would be met amicably.

Xena shook her head and had to give a slightly irritated, bitter chuckle at his choice of words. "A battle did ensue," she said darkly, brushing off her hands and shaking them out. They were a little tight from flinging the damn box across the room.

"Thanks for coming in, though," she said. "I mean, it was a nice thought." It was. He hadn't had to, but he'd come riding in on his little dog, hoping to help out.

When she said a battle had ensued, Didymus looked around for her foe, but all he saw was the pile of refuse. So that, evidently, had to be the fallen foe.

"'Twas my pleasure mi--" Didymus stopped himself from saying 'milady' a second time, since the not-lady in front of him apparently took exception to the term. "Might I ask your name?" he asked then, so he would know what to call her, at least, instead of terms at which she took offense.
