Dave watched Lily and Balthazar, and then he watched the other older guys, and then it occurred to him, he was kind of young. His brow furrowed, but that was clearly not what hew as meant to be focusing on right now. Once Snape and Magius had finished with their business, he grinned to Luke.
"So, I guess ... I will ... put some magic up ... and you will put your ..." he made a waving gesture. "Whatever up and we will see if they can comfortably share the same space? Is that what we're doing?" He glanced over to Lily. "Is that what we're doing?"
Lily chuckled softly. "Something like that love, yes. Just making sure our magic doesn't create vicious waves of counter magic or something like that when it's in the same area."
"Great," Dave said, flashing her a beaming smile. "Is it weird at all for you? I mean, being the youngest one out here, and the only girl? I mean, I assume you're the ..." he glanced over to Balthazar and nodded as he seemed to suddenly remember why he was here. "Right, so."
He grinned to Luke. "I am going to put up a barrier, and you can put your magic or whatever up near it," he directed before he made a grand waving gesture, sort of like pulling up his sleeves before he held his hands out and twisted up his face into an expression of intense concentration. "Wait, hang on."
He fished his ring out of his pocket, slipped it on, grinned sheepishly, and went through the motions again, pointing the ring at the area in front of him. "'kay, we're good," he assured Luke.
