Magius/Luke, Snape, Lily/Dave, Balthazar, others when they're around
Lily glanced over to Balthazar and Remus as they arrived, offering them a little smile. She looked to Luke as well, and then to Dave was he joined them. Well, this was certainly turning out to be a crowd, and she wondered how it was going to go. When she saw Tyler off to the side, she lifted a hand to wave to him. "I ... suppose this is it. If anyone else shows up, we can ... fill them in. So for our ... newcomers, I'm Lily Evans. This is Magius, and Remus, Balthazar, and Severus, and I'm afraid I don't know your names..." she said to the other two. They had to be new new if she hadn't see them yet. Perhaps in the network, but not in person.
"Dave. Dave Stutler, nice to meet all of you," he said as he grinned up to Balthazar. "So it's ... normal right, for our magic to not work completely? Or did the ring break?" He looked to Balthazar on that one. "Can it break?
"No, it's ... quite normal for our magic to be patchy at times," Lily assured him. Her gaze lingered a little on Luke as the young man introduced himself, and she smiled lightly.
"So I thought about it after our meeting, and I thought it best we start with simply trying magic of our own at the same time in the same area to see if it interferes at all. That will at least give us a base to start with. If it doesn't seem to bother each other, then we can move to maybe attempting to cast defensive or protective spells around each other, and decide from there if we want to try anything else. I'm mostly interested, honestly, in finding out how our spells that would be best in combat would work on each other."
She glanced to each of them. "So, for example, if I were to cast a shield over someone, would it trap their magic in, or would they still be able to use their magic around it, while being protected by my shield? Things like that, I think it's good we find out. Better to find out now than in the heat of things when ... it may well cost someone their life." Her eyes flicked once to Balthazar before she regarded the others.
Dave kind of stared. Heat of things? Like, a fight? Man, he was tired of magical fights. Why couldn't he just ... watch magical butterflies or something?
Still, he nodded to Lily, offering her a charming (or super dorky) smile.
