He held up his hands to the side, showing his gun but also his lack of intention to use it, wide eyed and confused about what just happened - realizing belatedly that he'd been deluding himself into thinking that once he'd eased up on the tension of worrying about the potential threat that she posed, wandering around, he'd expected her to do the same.
"Hey! Now! I wasn't!" he said in choppy sentences, not really sure where to start before he dropped his hands back to the side, running the one that was not holding his gun down his face and pinching the bridge of his nose briefly in his frustration. "I wasn't... trying to sneak up on you," he finished the thought finally. "I just... didn't know who you were, or what this place is, and..." he gestured to her back. "That's a big axe. You can't blame me, really. It's not every day a guy wakes up and he's been kidnapped by the government."
