If there was one thing Severus hated, it was an interruption to his work. He had spent most of the morning trying to recall, in precise detail, how the Wolfsbane Potion was made, before setting to work on any of the scant ingredients. He had made the potion numerous times, of course, but only once a month, unlike some other brews. If one understood the theory behind the potion, however, one stood a better chance of recalling everything, and thankfully, he did. So now, he was fairly certain he had it. Which meant he could get to work on the actual brewing, finally.
Except for one tiny problem. He still had nothing with which to remove the vessels from the beaded lizard hearts. At least without mangling them into uselessness.
So, after taking a moment to work out how to use this laptop and network, and most importantly, filters, he put up a message for the medical types in this place. He supposed it was possible that some of the other residents might have a scalpel, but those with medical training would be the most likely to relinquish one of their own free will. And besides, there might be a few others here who got nervous at the idea of his being armed with something sharp and pointy. Best not to alarm them, if he could avoid it.
Thankfully, someone got back to him shortly, and ... well, nipping across the hall wasn't too large an imposition. So, Severus set out to the infirmary, to look for a scalpel in the organizer in the top drawer of the dresser. If there were patients sleeping there, still, he wouldn't want to disturb them with a knock. Therefore, he simply tried the door's handle and then poked his head inside the room, looking around.
