Simon knew it would be a waste of breath to attempt to argue that it was not, in fact, amusing at all. "Not without ... walking. Just ... walk carefully," he muttered. He was aware he was not on his game, and his eyes strayed again to his sister and ... ... the boy she was with who she was not with and who was not her boyfriend.
Instead, he turned away to strike a few pills into a small vial before he handed it to Jaime. "See that he takes two of these when he gets to his room, and," he turned his attention back to Mal. "No more than four a day. I'd give you an injection, but apparently they're putting us back into primitive practices. So pills it is."
Jaime took the vial and nodded slightly as she stood up. She winced before she did her best to stretch the kinks out of cramped muscles, and she was glad she and Mal were at least on the same floor, even if they were on opposite ends. One set of stairs, then a trek down the hallway. She could handle this.
"Whenever you're ready," she said to Mal.
Once the towels were folded, Kyle smiled to River. "What do you want to do now?" Now that he'd found River - or she'd found him - his pressing need to be 'helpful' had abated somewhat, and he was more interested in just spending time with her.
