Over? It was over? How had it ended? "The girls..." he started to say, sort of half moving to get up and out of bed before he determined that it was way too much effort for him to move his arms right now and stopped leaning up. He was aware of Jaime holding his hand only after she'd released it, and he found that he missed the comfort of her closeness after she moved away. "The fight... what... happened?" he croaked out. Jesus, was that his voice? Really?
"How long...?" had he been here, was the second half of that question, but a new level of pain suddenly hit him, and he had to close his eyes against it. "Ni ta ma de. Tianxia suoyoude ren. Dou gaisi. What did he do to me?"
He was actually referring to Simon with that statement, and didn't give much consideration to how it could be misread.
Faith gave the good doctor a wide smirk, shrugged her shoulder sort of absently and winced at the pain that caused her shoulder. "Hey, come on now doc, it's my arm not my legs that took a beating," which wasn't entirely true, but she was a slayer. "I've been through worse."
She eyed him sort of curiously. He was cute, in that awkward, not really very social, schoolboy way. He reminded her a bit of Xander Harris, except that he seemed smarter. Which wasn't really that tough. "Would it make you feel better to give me the once over before you give me the pain meds and send me on my way? Cause I could stick around for a physical," she winked at him teasingly.
Yeah, all right, she was a bit of a slut. She was okay with that.
