That sounded really sad to her, though he didn't seem to be expressing the sadness that she would have felt reflected in those words. Not having a home to go back to? "Why don't you have a home?" she frowned. "Did yours..." she realized belatedly how sensitive a question that could be. Being all too familiar with the destruction of your world and your home she knew that it might be hard for people to talk about. "I'm sorry," she mumbled. "You don't have to answer that."
Though her thoughts had gotten distracted when he mentioned he didn't like being trapped either, and after a moment she burst out, "Do you think there's any truth to what they're saying?" she asked, suddenly curious. "About one of us having the secret to finding the way out? Or do you think they're just messing with us?"
She was leaning towards the latter. That someone might have the power to get them out if their powers weren't being dampened by... whatever it was that was keeping her from summoning energy. That it was just a tease. But getting other ideas couldn't hurt.
