It was over, or as over as it was going to be. She'd seen one of their captors' mocking message earlier that morning, but had chosen to ignore it. There were baits even she wouldn't rise to.
After they'd buried their dead (though Lily had had to cast charms to disguise the extent of damage done to the bodies), Lily had gone inside. The entire place was a mess. The lobby had broken windows, the med area was in disarray and crowded. The chaos had died some by now, but earlier ...
... she didn't want to think about earlier. There'd been chaos, and disaster, and blood, and things she never wanted to see again ... though she was afraid they would, and all too soon.
Things had definitely taken a nasty twist, and Lily found herself longing for the days of repetitive children's songs, or snow, or heatwaves. Strange, she thought, that she wasn't longing for home, but given what she knew happened there ... it was little wonder she wasn't in a rush to head to her death. But then, this place may well kill her in the end.
Either way, she'd be dead.
She was just ... very, very tired, and she hoped they'd get a chance to sleep. All of them. A chance to lick their wounds in peace, without ... without anything stepping in to disrupt them.
Emerald eyes drifted over the kitchen and the utter disarray it was in. Garbage from hastily scarfed down meals, and broken dishes, and dirty dishes, and marks on the counter she didn't even want to guess at. Slipping her wand out of the sleeve of her robe, Lily set to work. They'd restore this place as well as they could, and continue to exist here. However, she was more than a little motivated to find a way out now. It was one thing to know she was going to die. It was quite another to die in a cage.
