Cheshire Cat, Lizzy, Ari, reaver
He hated kids, he had decided, and their complete lack of understanding when they were in danger, and their utter refusal to comprehend that there were people trying to help them.
When this was all over, he was going to find some way to guilt someone into realizing that they'd left the two youngest of their numbers all alone in their unsafe room and none of them had noticed. But for now... he'd have to hope for the best. His illusionary magic was not terribly strong when dealing with things that were not him, but he was able to cast a temporary spell over the room they were now residing in.
He was pretty sure what bothered him the most about this current situation was that Lizzy had been so close to being safe, and then at the last second had overridden him and detoured back to Ari's room. He wasn't clear on exactly what had happened there, except that he thought that Ari had been in the safe room at one point in time and left it and... ugh. He hated kids, he really did.
Lizzy still didn't really understand what was going on. Everyone was apparently in a fuss about something, and she could hear running around and screaming and gunshots being fired. When all that noise had started, it had put a damper on her stories about things she'd done with Saul, back in her world, and how she missed him and some of those people there. She'd fallen into a more silent contemplative state.
"Think they'll try to come in here?" she asked Ari softly.
