Sam absently pushed some of her hair back out of her eyes before she returned to typing at the keyboard to splice together the various camera angles to form the last of the videos they'd be posting that week. Each one was set to play once, only for a specific person, and then delete itself from the network. They'd selected at random for the most part, but Sam was developing quite the vendetta against the trio who'd become leaders. Even if they hadn't done it on purpose, they had potential to be a genuine challenge. Not a threat, of course - now that the little speedster had been neutralized, no one was standing as a threat - but a challenge.
An annoyance.
There'd been a setback in the pheromone research, which meant they'd be pushing that off again. It didn't matter to her; the video would at least chink the armor and put 214 out of commission for a little while.
Sam sort of glanced up as she heard one of the portals shimmer into existence then snap closed as someone stepped through. "I wish you guys wouldn't do that here," she muttered as she dragged the cursor across the screen to cut a section of the video. "We've got a room for it."
"I know," Katie gasped a little breathlessly. "I was in a hurry though. You try being somewhere ... where people can kill you with a spell."
Matt chuckled as he held out a hand expectantly for Katie's video. He fingered the orb-shaped device before popping it into the reader that would translate it into something that could be published on the computer. "There's no excuse for breaching protocol, Katie," Matt taunted lightly.
"Okay, but, if he'd turned around? He might have seen me and killed me and ..."
"Did you get a good closeup of the face?" Sam inquired as she opened the file once it showed up on her computer. She watched the video playing out, and she smirked softly. "Yes you did," she said even as Katie echoed the sentiment.
She set it aside to tack in later as she finished working on the one for their newer arrival. "Is Jason done with the compounds yet?" she inquired. "We'll need one for tomorrow night," she pointed out.
"Sam, have I ever mentioned how much I love when you state the obvious? We've got the schedule. We know when it's needed. And yes, Jason said he'll have it done. Traumatic dreams, coming up," Matt declared. "Should be fun to watch, either way," he decided. He was very inclined to watch the reactions, and he'd be on shift for at least one of the dreams. Not that it mattered; everything was recorded and he could review it at his leisure, but there was nothing quite like watching it live. Too bad he couldn't determine when the video people would be watching theirs. He really wanted to see those reactions.
Matt then gestured slightly. "Speaking of schedules ..."
Katie grunted. "Yeah. I know. Restocking tonight. Lucky me."
