She woke up that morning after only a couple hours of sleep. Her nerves were still on edge just from thinking about what she was about to do. Was she psycho? Maybe a little, but that wasn't why she was going to do it. If her speed was the key to getting past the white line, then she couldn't just not try. She walked downstairs, opting not to run for now, and found one of the pizzas left over from the night before. She ate it within second and actually felt a little nauseous for once. She knew she wouldn't throw up, though. Her body needed the food too much so she just sat for a second and the feeling went away easy enough.
She knew she was nervous now. She rarely ever got nauseous. The only other time she could remember was after her parents died. She made her way back out to the main lobby and chose a comfortable chair to sit in while she waited for Chase to show up. She still didn't know exactly what to think about him, but he wanted to be around to help her with this and she would not turn help down. She just wouldn't ask for it either.
While she waited, she thought about all the traps she knew about thus far. Trying to think of ways to get past them all, just in case they were the ones that she encountered. She also thought about the note that she saw when she first got here, and wondered if she was being observed right now, while they came up with the perfect trap for her. If that was the case she would have to find a way to not do what they expected. That caused a painful thought to enter her head. She would have to actually punch it. It had been a while since she had done that, and she hadn't needed to do it here. She was going to have to go as fast as possible, faster than they had observed thus far, and that was going to suck later. She'd be fine in a few hours, but those few hours were going to suck.
